Prolotherapy involves injecting a nutritive/mildly irritating solution into the body, generally in the region of tendons or ligaments for the purpose of strengthening weakened connective tissue and alleviating musculoskeletal pain.
A main source of pain is caused by laxity of ligaments and tendons. Prolotherapy strengthens and causes proliferation of tendons, ligaments, and other connective tissue.
